OUR SCREENING PRACTICES

What we check, and what we do not

Last updated: July 13, 2026

OnKeiDo verifies each member's identity. OnKeiDo does not conduct criminal background checks. A check is not a safety guarantee; passing one certifies nothing.

Identity checking tells us that the person who registered is the person they say they are. It tells us nothing about how they will behave. No check — ours or anyone else's — can do that, and we will not imply otherwise.

A NOTICE WORTH READING

  • Anyone willing to lie about who they are may be willing to do other things you would not expect.
  • Do not send money to someone you met through OnKeiDo, and do not share bank, card, or account details with them. If someone asks, stop and tell us.
  • Hold back your home address, your workplace, and your daily routine until you know someone well. There is no hurry.
  • If you meet someone outside an OnKeiDo Evening, tell a friend where you are going and when you will be back, get yourself there and back, and meet somewhere public.
  • If something feels wrong, you owe no one an explanation. Leave, and tell us what happened at safety@onkeido.com.

Where this fits

How we act when something goes wrong is described on our Safety page. How we handle data is in our Privacy Policy, and what we do about biometric information is in our Biometric Policy.
